Margaret River Full Day Wine, Gourmet Lunch & Emu Feeding

A full day of the smaller Margaret River wineries, with the farms and food producers around them. All About Margaret River picks you up in Margaret River town centre and spends about seven hours on the road between three locally owned boutique wineries, an olive farm and a chocolate tasting. The operator’s own line is that every business it visits is locally owned, if not family-run.

The day starts at the operator’s farm: you can hand-feed the emus and alpacas, then sit down to morning tea with freshly baked scones, jam and cream and locally roasted coffee. The three wineries are the main event, with roughly 30 wines on offer between them and access to barrel rooms and working parts of the wineries. Lunch is Italian-inspired at an olive farm in the middle of the region, with olive-oil and local-produce tastings, and the chocolate tasting is guided.

What is not included: drinks at lunch other than water, and personal purchases. Bottles you buy at the cellar doors are on you.

Who it suits: a first day in the region, and anyone who wants the region’s food and farms as well as its wine. Who it does not suit: children under 3, and anyone staying outside Margaret River town, since pickup is within the town centre.
